The Gang Bang Deejays-Light Sound Dance

By Conan The Destroyher

When I started listening to CD1 of the new Bang Gang mix cd "L.S.D",I personally didn't care of it because the selections were somewhat slow for my tastes. plus I wanted to get to the core of what the Bang Gang Deejays are really about....Making your ass shake!!

So it was jettison to CD1 for this review and it was time to slip into CD2 for this one.

The Bang Gang Deejays are from Australia, and it consists of members Dangerous Dan, Doom, Gus Da Hoodrat and Ajax (Australia's number 1 DJ), and these guys are no joke when it comes to both track selection and getting you to party like a rockstar! Truth be told, I rather have these Aussies come over , than the shit djs from Australia who have toured here (T.V Rock I'm looking at your general direction) over the past couple of years!

The name "Bang Gang" is a host of premier parties that the Djs run from time to time.

Now with this review, I will show some favoritism towards The Bang Gang Deejays, because I've been fans of theirs since their wonderful remix of NYPC's "Ice Cream" was firstly downloaded into my hard drive! And unlike the Steve Aoki review, this CD packs a whooping 70 tracks!!!!

As always this CD is geared towards the hipster, alternative, indie scene fanboy and fangirl, which like the Pillowface CD share some similarities for audiences they're aiming for.

The mix compilation is spread over 2 CDs. CD1 as stated earlier is track selections that are around the 99 to 116 Bpms and of course gradually progressing to 120 Bpms for the later to last selections. As said earlier, this wasn't the favorite for me personally because it was too slow to digest in one sitting. There were some stand-out tracks on CD1 (which will be highlighted in red at the conclusion of this entry) that I liked, but to each their own.

CD2 is pretty much a straight no chaser deal. It goes directly into party mode the minute the intro is done, which is promising seems as how I had to bare the brunt which was CD1's selections.

Now with CD2, this is where the gang really shines with their intended selections, which is what I was attracted to when their mixes were released on the blogsphere! Modular Recording artists are present in both compilations such as MSTRKRFT, Kim, The Avalanches, The Bumblebeez and Wolfmother! However there was no sign of The Presets anyway, which is shame........

I only got one gripe with this compilation, and that is the fact that yet again its another Mix CD, which in this day and age feels redundant and not justified because of the Internet making mixes available online for people's conveniences, but that 's only one gripe I had with Mix CDs overall.

However this should not deter you from getting this wonderful mix CD, its worth it. And if this Cd is a clear indication that these guys are next big thing to look forward to from Australia....then go with that gut feeling!

Highlighted in red are the Favs!
