Savage signs to Universal

By Conan The Destroyher

Me and New Zealand Hip Hop aren't the best of buds over the years since the early 2000s. My main reason for my lack of love for is....well listen to it, does it sound familiar? Almost American? Well I hate all forms of New Zealand Hip Hop, but there some exceptions to the rule. One of them being Savage (Demetrius Savelio) who's unusual rapping style coupled by that gravel like voice of his had pretty much appealed to us....WHAT?!!@! WOULD YOU LIKE US TO REMIND YOU ABOUT THE FUCKING KILLER BEEZ AND HOW SUCK THEY ARE? YEAH I THOUGHT SO, SO SHUT THE FUCK UP!

Anyways yes, Mr. Savage is one the many members of Deceptikonz who is now going to be something of a success story after news spread that he will be signed to Universal in America. If this deals is successful, he would be collaborating with the likes of Timbaland and his buddy Akon!

Now as a Pacific Islander (wow you're surprised I'm Black) I for one am very proud of Savage. Yeah sure I should be dissing Dawn Raid and its many misfortunes (such as them declaring a chapter 11 not so long ago) but what's the point? Its not their fault Dawn Raid folder, it was their lack of education on the world of Digital technology which became their ultimate demise.

In short due to MP3s outselling CDs and legality behind the popular format led Dawn Raid into bankruptcy in the first place. But some lovely soul came to their rescue and saved the fledgling label from become a forgotten footnote in New Zealand Music.

Seriously all is forgiven on my end, because I'm big sucker for a good success story. Now this comes after a rather damming report from Dr Greg Clydesdale (who the fuck gave this guy a Doctrine?) stating that Polynesians were consider "The Underclass" of economic growth in New Zealand! Well Doc, why don't you stick that report far up your ass! See if it fits!

We at the frames would like to congratulate Savage, and I hope that you keep at it!

And to remixers around the world, you want some untapped talent to remix? Well we urge you to do a dance version of Savage's "Swing" which was featured on the "Superbad" soundtrack!
