MUNK ft ASIA ARGENTO | live fast die old

By Conan the Destroyher!

(This is Toog)

It comes to no surprise that Asia Argento does sing from time to time. I've notice this when I was listening to a French electronic artist going by the name of "Toog" somewhere in the earlier 2004s in which I heard her sing on a Toog track named "LOU ETENDUE". And the results of her singing? Well if its anything.......it beats any sort of singing from Scarlett Johansson by miles!

Her dark deadpan beauty coupled by her Smokey (and I mean Smokey) voice is something to marvel about actually! I'm serious, her singing style is very adaptive and seductive towards any alternative sound that you can throw at her......which leads us to this video

Recently she collaborated with MUNK, who is signed to Gomma (A fresh ass dance label from Berlin in which MUNK is actually one of the founding members of the label) on a Track called "Live Fast, Die Old" which is a very old school sounding house track (dare I say "THE JUAN MACLEAN") with lots of pianos.

We also have a remix which has been doing the rounds in Blogsviles

MUNK's album is out now which features "Live Fast, Die Old" as well as some other goodie tracks to simply salivate yourself over. For more info, please check out MUNK's and Gomma Records myspace pages!

whats with the lack of love coming form this blog towards the nz scene. dance music is all about coming together, if you think you guys can do better get out there throw some parties approach some venues and get out there not hate on what others are doing

Because the New Zealand Dance Music scene doesn't deserve a shed of sympathy from us! You fucked it all up, and you clean up your messes!

Oh yeah we will do better than whats available...just you watch!

And bearing in mind, international eyes are viewing this blog!

hey good on ya for believing you can make a difference but words dont mean a lot at all. go do it. By hating on all these people all you are going to do is distance yourself further from people that could possibly help you do what you want. hey i agree with you on some calls about some of the younger guys trying to make it and expecting to headline parties straight away etc and being booked on the fact they play for free and they bring a crowd rather than on their musical merits. but hating on people who chances are you have had very little to do with on a personal level isnt the right way to go about it instead if you believe you could do it better go build up a brand and develop your own parties to rivel theres. even on a smaller level theres venues in auckland such as coherent, asta have a seperate events room, moth, maybe even the likes of seba or zen or space which you could get for free on a friday im sure. hey if it starts to work you might even pick up a residency out of it. and as for the fact of internationals you say read this blog hey good o them they may feel compelled to give their comments on the matter.

So I take it you're not a big fan of Asia Argento then?

It's a shame the Asia Argento collab doesn't compare favourably to Munk's Disco Clown, let alone the Digitalism remix of Disco Clown
