The Raveonettes Launch Tour, Give Fans Backstage Passes Via Twitter
With the release of In And Out Of Control now in the rearview, Danish noir-pop duo The Raveonettes are hitting the road in support of the critically acclaimed full-length, their fourth overall and second after a Vice Records re-birth. The multi-month jaunt kicked off last night in Hoboken with an intimate performance at the 200-capcity Maxwells, and will run into November. But this isn’t your average tour. Earlier today, the band announced via a Myspace blog post that they’d be giving tickets to one lucky fan in each market, and – even better – allowing that special someone to hang out backstage for a drink before the show. What does the band expect in return? Merch ideas! Tired of t-shirts, stickers, and the boilerplate merch table fare, The Raveonettes want to expand their horizons with input from their fans. Run exclusively on Twitter, all fans need to do to for a chance to win is tweet the date on which they’d like to see the band, along with a new merch idea, making sure to include the hash-tag #ravestour (otherwise the tweet might be missed). The band will select the winner at random and alert the lucky someone in each city via Direct Message two days before the show.
