Russh, a Australian fashion publication has brought itself a shit-storm of controversy when 16-year old New Zealand model Zippora Seven posed topless (see picture above) for a fashion spread in a upcoming issue of the magazine. Beside the oblivious age factor, placements of champagne can be seen, while the male model (pictured above again) is passed out in the bathtub!
Among angry outcries from the modeling agency that represents Zippora, The Australian Censorship board is undergoing an investigation of Russh Magazine, and may seek legal action against the magazine!
And speaking of legalities, the champagne company which its product was depicted and the hotel that the photoshoot took place are seeking defamation and punitive damages!
Now I'm no expert in fashion or Haute couture, but how is getting a 16 year old girl naked constitute as being in fashion? I thought that the whole point of fashion was to get models fully clothed and have them prance around, striking a pose (Madonna's "Vogue") whist still fully clothed!
These fashion photographers always wanting to push that very envelope in order to execute a look, an aesthetic, a hyperplace reality that cannot be in real life!
Personally I find fashion photographers to be utter douche bag visionaries who I think don't give two shits about female models! Its all about the look.
But then again there are other factors to consider..........Zippora had a choice in saying "no" and proceed to walk out the photoshoot, an appointed guardian (its been known that Zippora's mum accompanies her to her shoots) could have taken a moral stance and said "no" on her behalf, and as said guardian could've educate the naive 16 year old about nudity and the realities of fashion industry! All options were there, follow through people!
Now the media, once it caught wind of this story decidedly spin doctored the whole fiasco and dubbed the 16 year old "The next Kate Moss of the modeling world!"...So will that mean she will be a waif thin woman with no tits or ass that a Gangster can't bang? And like Kate, will she develop an expensive cocaine habit in which her noise will break off after prolonged use?
I mean lets face it, the theme of the fashion spread was a honorable homage to "Kate Moss and Johnny Depp", and just like life imitating art, her boyfriend is none other that Kudaranee Brown, from the indie garage band, The DHDFDS
Conclusion...........? Always remember, fashion photographers are egotistical assholes with a vision....A vision of sex.....Lots of sex!
