Crystal Castles-Crystal Castles

By Conan The Destroyer

Now I've got to complete honest with you, reviewing the Crystal Castles self titled album was difficult as best to describe. Reasons for it was that they're the most over-hyped and over-rated indie electro band in all of Blogsviles. Every blog I've read suggest some giving their support for CC by saying "Crystal Castles rocks" to even the odd remark from other blogs stating negatively "Crystal Castles sucks balls".

Another factors to consider about this album was the shitstorm of controversy about how they sampled chiptune artist Lo-bat on a unreleased track entitled "Inspection" in which you can hear bits of distortion and some of Lo-bat's self induced gameboy sounding bleeps pitched down a few notes. Lo-bat however applied a creative commons license on said track which according to his official website states that:

"this means you are free to download, listen, copy and spread my music as much as you want ... as long as you don't use it for commercial purposes and as long as you give credit to me. Perfect deal, isn't it? :-)"

Now I also had to do some reading up on this Creative Commons nonsense via wikipedia just to grasp the whole concept of this so-called new licensing, and I still don't get. However you can clearly see it in bold red lettering above that yes you can download, listen and enjoy so long as the end user doesn't sell the tune commercially in which this case "Inspection" wasn't in the final cut of the album, or else all hell would've broken loose.

Now established artists such as Radiohead and Nine inch Nails release their albums under this new license of Creative Commons, as end users had a choice to pay whatever they feel is a reasonable amount (probably nothing by most counts) towards the download, providing of course that they don't sell the albums themselves!

Now this was not the only incident to happen to CC. Another one came in the form of a picture by Trevor Brown which depicted Madonna scoring a black eye (which is what I wanted to do to her after she release that shitvasty of a new album, "Hardcandy"). Apparently the band did not do any research on the image as to who owns the copyright or who drew it in the first place, they just thought it was pretty and slapped it on some tee shirts and buttons and called it their own.....DAMM!

Now for the Album. Even though that this is their debut, there were parts of the album that I found distracting to listen to. Yes I know I'm going to get shot down by some hardcore CC fans, but hear me out! It mostly comes from tracks that drive the whole synth overload bent, mashed with the chiptune-ish sounds. Its already enough that I had to deal with an Atari 2600 growing up when the game didn't load and made all that bleeping sounds that hurt the fuck out of my eardrums!

The tracks that I found to be of a distracting nature are "Alice Practice" (which lead singer Alice Glass screamingly yells the vocals out coupled with the Atari bleeps, dare I say Karen O?), "Love And Caring" and the short interlude "Xxzxcuzx Me". Maybe if they put some of these onto their next album (or an EP),but I personally felt that it just didn't belong into the album. I guess I'm more compassionate towards the more softer offerings from the band, but the tracks aforementioned was far too reminiscent of the now Defunct Berlin band, Atari Teenage Riot.

Now its not all bad news about the album (that is just my opinion), there are great moments where the band play as pseudo shoegazers, and just play some magnificent parts in the form of "Magic Spells", which is very warm and inviting. "Crimewave" featuring Health has a indie pop feel with vocals sounding as if it was driven into a mad compressor and vocoder combo, while "Vanished" has some beautiful vocals (thankfully not from Alice Glass) with some pipping synth lines (its the only way I can describe it frankly).

A friend of mines said she had a mad love for "1991" which comes off sounding very driven and upbeat and not as loud, to which I would agree because of how the track is laid out, its perfect to be dropped into any DJ set none the wiser.

Now there is one track that I'll redeem Ms.Glass's vocal talent on, and that is "Good Time" which sounded rather cheery and repetitive, and I do mean that in a good way though. I'm wondering why it took 9 tracks of her yelling to get to somewhere that shows off at least a shred of her vocal range.....hmmmmm think about it CC.

Overall reviewing the CC self titled debut was challenging at best because I had to listen to it for about 22 times just to come up with something decent to write about and to try clasp it with what the band is really all about.

Yeah I know they illegally abused a Creative Commons license (I mean who hasn't...Timbaland?), but that's just one isolated incident of hearsay from the group. I would say either wait till it hits the bargain bin at your local record store so the hype surrounding them could depreciate in value, or just check on the interwebs what schmuck is giving it away for free via rapidshare.

I wouldn't say that it is a classic album to have in your collection, but as time goes and you see it at your local selling at 5 dollars, then consider adding it to your collection (hey we do have to pay those art directors ya know)

How to Kill The Dj (Mixed by Optimo)

By Conan the Destoryher

I would put this mix high in my top 5 lists as one of those mixes that taught me how to break the rules, appreciate other genres, and to How to Kill The DJ!

Released in 2004 and mixed by JD Twitch and JG Wilkes who are residents of Optimo, the longest running club night in Glasgow, Scotland, this is a comprehensive look into the back history of musical movements, all the while giving a seamless mix of Pop, New Wave, Disco, Hip Hop, Funk, House, Rock, Punk, Acid, Techno and many other genres under the sun!

Wow that is a huge undertaking for even a regular Dj to get his (or her) head around, but they somehow manage to pull it off without it sounding like a huge pile of mess. At the start of the mix, it has a disgruntled punter (a woman) on the phone who witness people jumping the cue at Optimo all the while Funkadelic's "Wars Of Armaggedon" is waling in the background.

John Carpenter's "The End (Disco Version: Part 1)" is sort of a re-edit of the original track from his cult hit movie "Assault On Precinct 13". This stand out for me personally being a huge fan of John Carpenter's celluloid and soundtrack works from the past.

Langley Schools Music Project, an all boys choir do a fantastic cover of the Beach Boys "Good Vibrations" which would bring regaling memories for any person who attended those dreadful mass services back at catholic school. This track is just dropped in there, almost completely out of left-field, which may feel weird but trust me its just pure genius!

Now Optimo does pay alot of attention to new wave and punk selections as this seems to be a forte of theirs if you're lucky to download some of their earlier mix tapes from Optimo's official website.

Tracks within the Punk and New Wave genre that stood out for me were The Cramps "New Kind Of Kick", Depeche Mode's "Dead Of The Night (Electronicat Remix)", Revolting Cocks "On Fire", Soft Cell's "Sex Dwarf", The Rapture's "Out Of The Races And On To The Tracks", Medium Medium "Hungry So Angry" and Blondie's "Atomic".

And lastly the dance tracks are killer! So killer, that within seconds of listening out for them you would go out of your way to hunt them down and have em as keepsakes for your hard-drive. I'm happy to report that beatport.com have some of these tracks available for purchase and are as follows:

PJ Pooterhoots "Barf"
Chromeo "Destination Overdrive (DFA Dub)"
CLS "Can U Feel It"
Loose Joints "Is It All Over My Face?"

Overall there is something for everybody with this mix, and believe me this mix time and time again will not wear thin over the years. Even if you forget about it for a month or so, there is a chance that you would pop this sucker back into your computer and have a good old listen! Its like being at Optimo, this is the perfect soundtrack that captures the atmosphere and audio shenanigans of JD Twitch and JG Wilkes!

Yes its a keeper!

The Gang Bang Deejays-Light Sound Dance

By Conan The Destroyher

When I started listening to CD1 of the new Bang Gang mix cd "L.S.D",I personally didn't care of it because the selections were somewhat slow for my tastes. plus I wanted to get to the core of what the Bang Gang Deejays are really about....Making your ass shake!!

So it was jettison to CD1 for this review and it was time to slip into CD2 for this one.

The Bang Gang Deejays are from Australia, and it consists of members Dangerous Dan, Doom, Gus Da Hoodrat and Ajax (Australia's number 1 DJ), and these guys are no joke when it comes to both track selection and getting you to party like a rockstar! Truth be told, I rather have these Aussies come over , than the shit djs from Australia who have toured here (T.V Rock I'm looking at your general direction) over the past couple of years!

The name "Bang Gang" is a host of premier parties that the Djs run from time to time.

Now with this review, I will show some favoritism towards The Bang Gang Deejays, because I've been fans of theirs since their wonderful remix of NYPC's "Ice Cream" was firstly downloaded into my hard drive! And unlike the Steve Aoki review, this CD packs a whooping 70 tracks!!!!

As always this CD is geared towards the hipster, alternative, indie scene fanboy and fangirl, which like the Pillowface CD share some similarities for audiences they're aiming for.

The mix compilation is spread over 2 CDs. CD1 as stated earlier is track selections that are around the 99 to 116 Bpms and of course gradually progressing to 120 Bpms for the later to last selections. As said earlier, this wasn't the favorite for me personally because it was too slow to digest in one sitting. There were some stand-out tracks on CD1 (which will be highlighted in red at the conclusion of this entry) that I liked, but to each their own.

CD2 is pretty much a straight no chaser deal. It goes directly into party mode the minute the intro is done, which is promising seems as how I had to bare the brunt which was CD1's selections.

Now with CD2, this is where the gang really shines with their intended selections, which is what I was attracted to when their mixes were released on the blogsphere! Modular Recording artists are present in both compilations such as MSTRKRFT, Kim, The Avalanches, The Bumblebeez and Wolfmother! However there was no sign of The Presets anyway, which is shame........

I only got one gripe with this compilation, and that is the fact that yet again its another Mix CD, which in this day and age feels redundant and not justified because of the Internet making mixes available online for people's conveniences, but that 's only one gripe I had with Mix CDs overall.

However this should not deter you from getting this wonderful mix CD, its worth it. And if this Cd is a clear indication that these guys are next big thing to look forward to from Australia....then go with that gut feeling!

Highlighted in red are the Favs!

Steve Aoki-Pillowface And His Airplane Chronicles

By Conan The Destroyher

I personally don't like the concept of Mix Albums at present right now. I mean whats the point of buying a mix album when you can get it from a dedicated dance music fans blogsite instead, which is where I got my copy from. Its not that I personally don't want to buy the CD, its just in this day in age mixes are easy to find thanks to free server sites such as rapid-share, Zshare and mediafire (yes these are my favorites FYI)

The way that the media has view Steve Aoki is that you either love him or hate him, in which case I'm kind of on the fence with him when it comes to his associations with certain celebrities.

Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton,Joel Madden and Danny Masterson from "That 70s show" are personal and close friends of Steve Aoki. And bearing in mind that he also runs indie label Dim Mak Records which is home to such artists as Datarock, Bloc Party and Mystery Jets!

Now lets get to the review of this Mix Album. The track selection is fantastic, thats off course if you're partial to the music thats on offer from Aoki. The starter is Refused "New noise" which is a classic punk track to get things moving.

It also may have a dual meaning to some who are excepting a sissy like house selection.........NOPE NOT A CHANCE IN HELL!!!!!

Expect tracks such as Klaxons "Gravity's Rainbow (Soulwax Remix)", Justice's "Waters Of Nazareth (Erol Alkans Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr Re-Edit)",Green Velvet "Shake And Pop, Does It Offend You, Yeah? " We Are Rockstars " and Erol Alkan's remix of Franz Ferdinand "Do You Want To"

So basically this album is geared towards the Hipster sub-culture, Nu ravers ravers, and many a alt indie crossover fanboy or girl for that matter.

Now for the Cons about this album. First of all I should stop referring to this as an album, but a mix CD. However the way that Steve has been promoting it on his myspace page makes it like he's got a debut album. So to shatter those perceptions, its not an Album!

Another annoying thing about listening to this mix is the fact that there are Adlib moments from some of Steve's music friends such as Kid Sister (on "Shake 'N' Pop"), Spank Rock (on "Waters Of Nazareth"), Har Mar Superstar (on "Element Of Danger") and Hip Hop artist Mickey Avalon (on"Wet n Wild"), which at first works on some levels, but it just ruins the overall listening experience for me personally.

Also with the track selection it feels somewhat dated due largely to many blogs breaking in these tracks prior to the release of this mix CD. So this maybe a downer to people like me who have already heard the majority of these tunes from other mix compilations!

Now with what I've read from Pitchfork's scathing reviews on this CD, I would recommended this mix cd to anyone who are not familiar with Nu Rave or Nu dance as I would've coined it .

As it turns out there are other DJs who are at first not as mainstream as Aoki, but are in the same arena in terms of playing underground dance and Nu Rave within their Dj sets. And no we are not hoping this is the last mix from Aoki, but in the near future he should consider podcasting via Itunes for those who can't get the experience which is Steve!

So its a keeper. As for Steve, if the Blahs ever got to DJ'ed along side with Aoki at a hip LA club, we would not say no to it...........that's of course If Lindsay Lohan is thrown in as an incentive package (Hmmmmmmm blowjobs!)

Sébastien Tellier-Sexuality

By Jacob Sua

If you haven't discovered the astute mastery which is "Sexuality" from Sébastien Tellier, then you have no clue how to treat a woman to a night of mystery, intrigue, love and old school romance

Sebastien Tellier's third album is filled to the brim with sophisticated instrumentation all played by Tellier himself, along with sensual lyrics and old school romantic tones that feels like a time wrap back into the last century

Aiding him in production is Guy-Manuel De Homem Christo from Daft Punk.

Christo was asked by Tellier if he could produce "Sexuality" (which was also Sebastien's first studio record). Christo was flattered by the invitation and decidedly hop on

Image that, a robot helping a crooner like Sebastien to produce love songs...and if you're wondering if there is a angling of robotic after taste from Guy-Manuel's band Daft Punk in the production, you will be in for a surprise because there is absolutely zero Daft like synths or Daft like drum patterns.

Also reading from other reviews about Sebastien Tellier stating that he's is like a modern day Serge Gainsbourg maybe a far stretch to some hardcore Serge fans, but I do somehow see the comparisons.

As said earlier, this album is a nice but slow album which will however acquire your attention throughout. So that means no skipping here folks, and why should you? The tracks are sooo good you would want to listen to it again and again, heck leave it playing in the background and you wouldn't notice a single thing. It just blends in!

Now for the tracks. I'm sure all of you in one way or another seen that remix from the other SebastiAn of "Sexual Sportwear" making its rounds throughout blogsvile, well the original is in here which is the most preferred in my books.

It comes off sounding like a missing score from a romantic movie. If you listen to it closely it feels like its unraveling itself to you, which I presume is Tellier's whole point.

"Kilometer" is simply beautiful. English sung lyrics and Phil Collins sounding percussions which makes this the Ideal modern love song, while "Fingers of steel" is a bit more upbeat which I suspected is sounds closely to that of Guy-Manuel's signature Daftness.

And finally there is "Divine" which is a more cheery composition, reminiscent to a beach boys song. This song was nominated into the Eurovision song contest, but apparently the song which is performed largely in English caused a stir due to the lacking of French lyrics which Sebastien wanted to withdraw it from the contest so he can inject more French into the song prior to the contest.

Overall this album is a must. Its already turned me into a fan purely because its a classic French album which unlike most albums that are aimed at the dance music genre, this album just feels right!

I would recommend looking for Sebastien Tellier's early releases as well as his soundtrack contributions to many moives (eg Lost in Translation).

Luscious Jackson-Electric Honey

By Jacob Sua

Ok this review is for the ladies, and I do mean the ladies! I'm going to review a another classic album which needs to be brought back into the limelight because I've yet to see a proper review on it, and the album is from Luscious Jackson, and the name......Electric Honey.

The band was formed in 1991 with members Jill Cunniff (Vocals, Bass), Gabby Glaser (Vocals, Guitar) and former Beastie Boys drummer Kate Schellenbach (Drums). Their music is best described as Alternative Pop fused with hip hop, rock and punk (maybe). They existed within the inner circles of what I like to called the "Beastie circle", an exclusive collective that consisted of the Beastie Boys, Money Mark, Spike Jonez, Mike Mills, Cibo Matto, Nigo and Buffalo Daughter.

This offering of Electric Honey was said to be the last album from the band before they split around 2000 (Its the usual route, some got married, some moved on yada yada yada). So what about the album? How does it sound?........well that's why I'm writing this review, the album sounds ace! And I'm not basing it on their well known hit "Ladyfingers" (Which also spawned a video) but other hits such as "Alien Lover" and "Christine".

"Sexy Hypnotist " has a Sheryl Crow style riff topped with Kate Schellenbach excellent drumming shimmering on top, while "Fantastic Fabulous" features Bondie herself, Debbie Harry!

And lastly (and I should have mentioned this in the first instances) "Nervous Breakthrough", the first track on the album brings a late pseudo disco feeling that would make Lady Kier from Deeelite proud!

Now for my tidbits and final thoughts. Yes this album is the definite keeper in your collection, hell rip the album to your computer and savor the jewel case with the accompanying artwork. I should also point out that it was produced in 1999, the final year of the great nineties before Napster ruined it for the rest of us. The 90's was consider a great era for music in my books, and I'm glad that bands like Luscious Jackson were among the greats from the 90's

Now Jill Cunniff has released her solo album "City Beach" on The Militia Group label on February, 20, 2007 and Luscious Jackson have reunited as a band releasing their Greatest hits album on Capitol Records, and announced plans to make an album for Children in mind.

Freak Power-More of Everything for everyone

By Jacob Sua

Wow we're taking it back to the day with this review on a indefinite forgotten classic that either most critics loved or loathed.

Freakpower, the band that gave us the one hit wonder "Turn on, tune in, drop out" which was derived from a counter-culture phrase coined by late American writer Timothy Leary was released in 1993.

Firstly becoming a minor hit on the UK charts, until a Levis Ad entitled "Taxi" directed by Baillie Walsh which featured a tranny entering a taxi and proceeded to shaving her five'o clock shadow in the rear view mirror, renewed interest yet again on the Uk charts, making it their only successful hit on the mainstream.

The members consist of Norman Cook (AKA Fatboy Slim, Pizzaman, Mighty Dub Katz, and bassist for The Housemartins and Beats International) and Ashley Slater (Vocalist and Trombonist).

They blend a mixture of Trip Hop,Acid Jazz, Funk and soul, which was carried on from the previous album "Drive Thur Booty". Now as I said before this is a forgotten classic, because I have yet to see a review online about this particular album, and its a very good album to have in your collection!

From beginning to the end there is hit after hit of goodness which will make you forget the whole one hit wonder label stamped undeservedly by the UK Charts and critics alike.

And the tracks? Well "Trip through you mind" should be a clear indicator of a good starter track, and "New Direction", "Husband" (which Ashley Slater re-done on his solo "Big Lounge"),"Can you feel it?", need I say more?

I would be as bold to say that this is Fatboy slim's finest hour, and others should also seek out "Drive Thur Booty", which too was a under-rated album.

Finally for those that are not in the know, freakpower broke up around the early 2000s with their last known track "No Way" which was featured on the disastrous Ben Stiller film "Mystery Men". Ashley Slater does have a solo album called "Big Lounge" and y'all know what Norman Cook is doing, in fact I shouldn't tell you.

Dj Kicks: The Glimmers

By Jacob Sua

Well may as well do this one. Its been long overdue, so lets rip into it.

The Glimmers are 2 gentlemen from Ghent in Belgium........Wow what the fuck are they drinking in Ghent? Whatever it is, I want a bottle of it right now! Lets think about it, not only the city of Ghent delivered these 2, but they also delivered another 2 who are from the biggest rock band, and are the biggest if not the best remixers of all time..................Heard of Soulwax?

Their name used to be "The Glimmer Twins", making a tongue n cheek reference to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, but they had to change it due to The Rolling Stones possible lawsuit if they stuck with it!

The Glimmers (Mo Becha & David Fouquaert) have been DJing since the late 80s in Ghent, playing a mixbag of disco, house, rock and funk. Today not only that they're still Djing around the globe, but they have cemented themselves as remixers and producers remixing the like of Mylo, Kaos, The Chemical Brothers, Xlover, New Order and Mekon (Don't stare fool!!! Look it up!)

I can vouch for The Glimmers remixing abilities because I got a 12 inch of Kaos "Feel like I feel" (which the original is featured on this Kicks Series!) which they did some major remix justice to (no pun intended) and I've heard their remix of The Chemical Brothers "Salmon Dance" and its rocking track folks!

Now as for their Kicks Series....................................IT FUCKING RULES BALLS!!@!! If that was not loud enough for ya, then let me repeat that again....IT FUCKING RULES BALLS!!!!

Seriously if you buy a copy of this mix compilation, you'll feel as happy as piss to get it. The track selection is fantastic! Its like a orgy into dance music that will give you a sense of nostalgic recall because it feels like they take you on a journey to when music really did matter!

First of is Bis "Shack up" which is a cover from Banbarra original "Shack Up", but this is a more dance friendly version from the Britpop band which then cuts right through to Peaches "Lovertits" from her album "The Teaches of Peaches".

Straight after the Peaches track is Big Two Hundred-"Approach & Pass With Contact" which was a standout track for me personally because I've got their album "Your own personal filth".

Another one that stood out for me besides Kerri Chandler "Disko Satisfaction" is a track from Ragtyme called "Fix it man" which sounds like a sexed up disco track about a universal plummer. This track can also be found on the LP version of The Glimmers DJ Kicks, so its worthwhile to also invest into the vinyl because this track is hard to come by and knowing !K7 (The label that does the DJ Kicks series) it must have been a bitch to ask permission for!

Throughout the mix you will hear an original track from The Glimmers named "Cassette". Now this is the only original track from The Glimmers that I know of. Its not a rare one, you can actually buy this from another compilation released from !K7 called "DJ Kicks:The exclusives".

"Cassette" does sound like something from the late 80s house movement. I know I heard the drumming structure from somewhere, but I'll leave it to the trainspotters!

And lastly I love the remix from Out Hud of Megnetophone's "Kel's Vintage Thought" which leads right through to Rub n Tugs re-edit of Chicago's "I'm a man!".

Overall !K7 has done it yet again with another classic compilation, and The Glimmers are a twosome to lookout for. If this review hasn't convinced you to get both the LP and the mix CD, well I'm at a lost.

Dj Kicks:Erlend Oye

By Jacob Sua

This one is a classic in my book. I mean sure some people can debate that the DJ Kicks series has gone somewhat south of the border over the years (A friend of mines said that the latest DJ kicks was too abstract and weird for his likings), but there always time to reflex the good old days!

In fact I remember him dropping me off to Kfm radio on the lovely K.rd Strip, and I played some of the tracks from Erlend Oye's DJ Kicks, it was getting good for the first couple of tracks until the notorious "2D2F" song from Avenue D played live on air, and he ran in and tried to pull the plug on it, which he succeeded in, leaving me with egg on my face.........Sure it bore a red face reaction when I drop the Dj Kicks live to air (Hey don't blame me, I didn't feel like mixing that day).

This offering as said earlier is from Erlend Oye, one half of the folk Swedish duo Kings of Convenience. Since then he has harbored an interest in electronic music which had him collaborate with the likes of DJ Hell, Prefuse 73, metro area and Schneider TM.

Right away you know its a good mix when it starts with a good song from Jürgen Paape "So Weit Wie Noch Nie". Further on during the mix you can actually hear Erlend either singer on top of the instrumentals of certain tracks, or adlibbing his way by introducing another track such as Alan Braxe and Fred Falke classic 'Rubicon'

Expect lashings of Microhouse, Electroclash, Techno, Dancepunk and minimal from this mix with artists like The Rapture, Röyksopp (which he sang the groups stellar tracks 'Poor Leno' and 'Remind me'), Morgan Geist, Villalobos, Skatebård and Justus Köhnck.

Also there are rare tracks that are in here such as the Kings of Convenience remix of Cornelius's "Drop". I urge you to go on a trainspot for that remix because its just beautiful! Another band that's featured on the Erlend's DJ kicks is Jollymusic, especially looking for that version of "Radio Jolly", its hard!

There is however one gripe with this DJ Kicks and that is when you reach Track 16's "Winning A Battle, Losing The War" from Minizza. It just feels weird that you're listening to a mix that has beat matched elements and this hip hop track just drops out of nowhere killing the continuity altogether. I say ride that wave Erlend, ride it to the end!

My overall summary is that you should get this compilation if you want a bit of a minimal boogie without it going to hard. Its perfect from beginning too the end (except for track 16).

Buffalo Daughter-I

By Shibuya Suki

I had this album in my hard-drive for quite awhile now, and just recently I've been listening to it, and this is one the most criminally under-rated albums ever.

Buffalo Daughter's 'I' is a radbag mixture of pop, surf, prog rock, bleep and other things thrown in the stew which is "I'. This was also their first and last album to be released by Emperor Norton Records before they closed its doors forever, which by then they signed themselves to V2 records.

Now this album is also a little hard to come by. You can try ask Real Groovy for the album, but all your efforts will be fruitless, and prepare to shell out through the ass for this one costing upwards of $75.00 dollars if you want to import it!

Now for the music. I did have a listen to some of their earlier works which was borderline experimental, and that was also the time that 'Captain Vapour Athletes' was released on the now defunct Grand Royal Label.

With this release, it feels like a journey which will prevent you from pressing the skip function on any of tracks! From the get go ''Ivory" feels dramatic with what sounds like a children's choir humming and haunting violins for accompaniment to set the tone, while "Earth Punk Rockers" sounds alot like Led Zeppelin turning Japanese! There are some moments in the album where strange interludes are put in before the next rocking track. Examples of this can be found on tracks such as 'I know' where the band repeats the words 'I' and 'I Know', and '28 Nuts' where the band is tuning their instruments with what sounds like an orchestra before blasting it towards 'Volcanic Girl'.

Outstanding tracks from the Daughter's to listen to are 'Robot Sings', 'Mirrorball', and 'A completely identical Dream'.

In conclusion this release is worth the time and effort to import. And yes you will thank me for it!
